The Plus Size Wardrobe - Our Philosophy

My simple concept for an adaptable, smart and stunning wardrobe is in fact simplicity itself; large ladies' fashion or plus size clothing should be stunning, simple and sensuous.

My secret to a great look is to have a basic wardrobe such as a simple black dress, or loose silky trousers with a flowing vest that skims over a larger bust and bigger hips - and then dress it up with a Butterfly stunning silk kaftan, gorgeous cotton top or stylish linen jacket (already you are feeling smart and gorgeous). As if by magic, you have a fabulous outfit to wear to the wedding, or be the belle of the ball, or to feel cool and smart at the office interview.

We can be big and bold and make a huge statement with colour and natural fabrics, so don't be shy be noticed and admired. You can compose complete outfits with different tops which will flatter the fuller figure.

A large lady has different fashion needs; tight clothes emphasise any lumps and bumps that you would prefer that nobody knows about, and short length tops just seem to emphasise a larger figure. Keep your dress or silky trousers and flowing vest to one colour for a slim, long line effect, (black is a very good basic colour), and combine with a Butterfly top chosen for the splash of colour and sensuous material. Now finish it off with a gold chain or string of beads or a matching hat, and all I can say is WOW! you look like a million dollars!

Now tell me that it is not true to say big is beautiful, or large clothes are flattering. Plus size ladies' clothing are made for you; with much thought given to solve the problems that are experienced by large ladies. Vertical lines in many of The Butterfly garments give the impression of a longer, thinner look, and bold designs and colours take the focus away from a larger bust, tummy and bigger hips. The sleeves are loose to allow freedom of movement, and to cover up the upper part of the arms that we want to hide, and they do not hug on to your shoulders. Longer body lengths give a more streamline and flowing effect that flatter the fuller figure.

The combinations are endless, and provide smart, cool and casual daytime outfits, and sophisticated, sexy and elegant evening attire.
